National Funding Formula for Schools

I have been contacted by a number of constituents who have passed on their concerns regarding the proposed schools national funding formula.

I have long campaigned for fair funding for schools in Cornwall. I am pleased that the Government listened to my representations and those of my colleagues who made a strong case, including for the particular needs of our rural small schools.

Please do read the link to the consultation on the proposals below. The consultation document includes an indication of how the proposals would effect each school. Overall Cornwall is currently due to receive £289,583,122 in schools funding however, if the new formula is implemented in full, this will increase to £294,409,275. This equates to an increase of 1.7%.

I remain determined to ensure that Cornish children and Cornish schools get their fair share of funding. Please do read the document and let me know what you think.
