Yesterday, Sports Minister David Evennett MP visited Turn to Starboard at the London Boat Show.
Turn to Starboard's flagship vessel, The Spirit of Falmouth, is featuring in the outdoor display at the London Boat Show 2016.
‘Spirit’ is just one of just six vessels chosen to appear at the world-renowned event showcasing products, services and boats from leading companies.
The highly capable Armed Forces veteran crew from our Yacht master programme set sail from Falmouth in early January 2016. The team arrived at London’s King George V lock on January 7 before proceeding to their allocated berth outside the ExCeL Exhibition Centre.
The 10-day show – spread over the equivalent of six full-sized football pitches – runs from January 8 to 17 and the crew will be on board to accompany visitors around this fascinating vessel which was gifted to the charity by The Prince’s Trust in 2014.
Turn to Starboard will also have a presence inside the main exhibition hall alongside International Paints, a key sponsor of Turn to Starboard's Round Britain Challenge in the summer of 2016.
Commenting on the event, Sarah Newton MP stated: "I am really proud that Turn to Starboard is featuring at this highly prestigious event and that the Sports Minister responded to my request to visit them yesterday. He was impressed with the work of Turn to Starboard and really enjoyed listening to the experiences of the former armed service men and women working with the charity."
